Postoperative hemorrhage is a genetic disorder affecting platelet function. Symptoms are related to abnormal coagulation and include heavy bleeding during surgery or trauma. The first clinical signs may appear as early as birth.
Transmission
Autosomal recessive. However, in certain cases, heterozygous dogs may still develop the disease, which could be explained either by a different mode of inheritance or by the presence of a second genetic variant in the population.
