DNA profile with 12 ISAG 2006 markers (STR)
Test code: BOV-ID12Each bovine has its own DNA signature. This is a sort of genetic identity card based on 12 microsatellites recommended by the ISAG (International Society of Animal Genetics), the values of which are included in the analysis report. Progenus is ISO17025 accredited for this test.€49.85 -
Freemartin
Test code: BOV-FREEA freemartin is an infertile female (in 95% of cases) resulting from a twin gestation with a male. During gestation, the two fetal circulatory systems are connected, which leads to the exchange of blood between the fetuses. The test detects the presence of male DNA in the blood of the female.€49.85 -
Red Factor (MC1R: c.310delG)
Test code: BOV-REDThe melanocortin-1 receptor (MC1R) gene, also called extension (E), controls the production of black and red pigment in cattle.€49.85 -
Hypermuscularity Q204X (MSTN: c.610C>T)
Test code: BOV-Q204XThis test detects the Q204X mutation in the MSTN gene that causes muscle hypertrophy.€49.85 -
Hypermuscularity NT821 (MSTN: c.818-828del)
Test code: BOV-NT821This test allows the detection of the NT821 mutation in the myostatin gene, which is responsible for a significant development of the animal's musculature. This mutation is particularly observable in the Belgian Blue breed.€49.85 -
Complex Vertebral Malformation (SLC35A3: c.538G>T)
Test code: BOV-CVMCVM has been reported in aborted, premature or stillborn calves. Affected calves have a reduced weight and a deformed spine. Several other malformations, including heart defects, are associated with this syndrome.€49.85 -
Cholesterol deficiency (APOB: 1.3kb insertion)
Test code: BOV-CDHThe APOB gene mutation causes hypocholesterolemia with diarrhoea in affected animals. They usually die within the first weeks or months of life.€49.85 -
Brachyspina (FANCI: g.20773899_20777226del)
Test code: BOV-BRABrachyspina syndrome is an inherited fatal congenital malformation. Affected animals are characterised by severe reduction in body weight, growth retardation, extensive vertebral malformations and malformation of internal organs.€49.85 -
Bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency (ITGB2: c.383A>G)
Test code: BOV-BLADThe white blood cells (leukocytes) of affected animals cannot pass from the bloodstream into the infected tissue. Affected individuals die because of their extreme susceptibility to infection. This test is often requested in combination with the CVM.€49.85
