Cystinuria type B (SLC7A9: c.881T>A)
Cystinuria is caused by a lack of renal reabsorption of the amino acid cystine. This excess of urinary cystine causes crystals to form, which can lead to the formation of stones in the kidney and/or bladder. Cats with cystinuria suffer from repeated inflammation of the urinary tract.
